For Certified Teachers
Emergency Generalist, PK–8 (#201)
The Emergency Generalist, PK–8 (201) would allow a certified educator who currently holds a Provisional or Professional teaching certificate to teach all content/subject and grade levels within the PK–8 span, exclusive of special education and TESOL/bilingual endorsements, for the 2023–2024 school year at the request of the LEA/District.
Currently, certified elementary 002, 003, 004, 005, 013, 305, 112, and 113 educators would be eligible for The Emergency Generalist (201). Currently certified PK–12 and middle grades (4–8) educators would be eligible for the (201).
Emergency Generalist, 7–12 (#202)
The Emergency Generalist, 7–12 (202) would allow a certified educator who currently holds a Provisional or Professional teaching certificate to teach all content/subject areas in the 5–12 grade span, exclusive of special education and TESOL/bilingual endorsements, for the 2023–2024 school year at the request of the LEA/District.
Currently, certified educators holding an academic 7–12 endorsement would be eligible for the (202). Currently certified PK–12 and middle grades (4–8) educators would be eligible for the (202).
Pathways to Teaching Certification
There are many pathways to becoming a certified teacher in Connecticut including Summer Programs, Master Programs, and Durational Shortage Permits.
